We are looking for a passionate Sales Manager who demonstrates strong commercial acumen, loves leading a team to success and has a desire to develop the events to be the beating heart of the Education & Healthcare industries.

This role allows you to take ownership of the events you work on by having the freedom to autonomously drive its strategic growth and direction, whilst delivering on all commercial elements.

As Sales Manager, you will be immersed in the world of Education & Healthcare enabling you to become a trusted authority in the industry, creating valuable connections along the way.

The role is 80% telephone based and you will be expected to achieve a minimum of 70 minutes outbound client calls with a high focus on new business generation. When you are not selling space and sponsorship over the phone you will be out in the field, canvassing new business at competitor events and of course being onsite for the duration of the events you work on.

Expectations:
  • Lead the sales team by example by hitting your individual KPI’s, targets and activities
  • Effectively line manage the sales team, driving the commercial success of the events by ensuring a focus on coaching to enable the achievement of weekly/monthly/annually targets, KPI’s and personal development goals
  • Develop & implement event plans which explores new opportunities and drives growth
  • Be responsible for the commercial success of the events through strategic selling and high conversion
  • Develop key partnerships which drive revenue and visitor engagement
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the Education and Healthcare sectors to identify evolving trends and best practices and to cherish relationships within the community
  • Create effective, tailored sponsorship opportunities and write respective proposals
  • Work collaboratively the Marketing Team to develop a strong commercial marketing campaign
  • Influence the Marketing Team’s visitor campaign due to great industry knowledge and connections
  • Work closely with the Operations Team with regards to floor plan management
  • Generate stand and sponsorship revenue over the phone
  • Visit competitive events, meet existing customers and prospect for new business
  • Work closely with the wider team on collaborative projects
  • Produce and present monthly forecast which shows targets are being exceeded across all events
  • Run the Rebook at each event to achieve maximum targets by liaising with clients and ensuring the team are hitting their own individual targets
