An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced IP professional to join a leading intellectual property firm in a key practice support role. This position supports best-practice development across patent, trade mark, and design matters in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. You will play a central role in driving process improvement, training, and system optimisation across the firm. Hybrid working is available, combining office-based collaboration with flexibility.

The Role:
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced IP professional to join a leading intellectual property firm in a key practice support role. This position supports best-practice development across patent, trade mark, and design matters in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. You will play a central role in driving process improvement, training, and system optimisation across the firm. Hybrid working is available, combining office-based collaboration with flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and update practice guidance, templates, manuals, and key engagement documents
- Support the development and delivery of training on current and new IP practices across the firm
- Monitor daily EPO, WIPO, EU IPO and UK IPO updates and communicating any relevant information firm wide.
- Assist with implementing and embedding practice and process changes, including system updates
- Liaise with internal teams, external IP offices, and third parties to support operational excellence
- Extensive experience working within an intellectual property firm
- Strong working knowledge of patent, trade mark, and design rules and regulations, ideally with the relevant CIPA and/or CITMA certificate.
- Experience of working with IP portfolio management systems (ideally Inprotech), patent office systems (e.g. EPO Line, ePCT etc.) and document management systems (ideally iManage).
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Self-motivated and able to drive actions forward; with a positive attitude.
- An ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; with experience of working in projects.
- Proven time management, planning and organisational skills.
