Role:  European Patent Attorney
Location:  Milan, Italy
Sector:  Biotechnology (life sciences)                
  
The Firm:

An opportunity exists within an Industrial and Intellectual Property consulting boutique firm specialising in patenting, with outstanding expertise in the chemical, pharmaceutical, life science and biotech sectors.
  
The Role:
  
A Qualified European Patent Attorney (with / without the national qualification) with a technical background in Biotechnology (life sciences).
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for PCT and EP validations
  • Drafting and prosecution
  • Support in pre-litigation cases, providing opinions and strategy as part of an advisory role when preparing clients
The Candidate:
  • Degree in Biotechnology or similar
  • EQE-qualified with at least 10 years of experience in the profession; additional national (Italian) qualification is desirable
  • Experience in drafting, filing and prosecuting EPO, PCT and national applications in the biotech field
  • Knowledge of EPO opposition and appeal procedures, litigation proceedings
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English, additional linguistic skills are desirable but not essential
