Title:                     Business Development Manager
Location:             Preston, hybrid working in place.
  
What we are looking for

We are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager or Business Development Executive to join our sales department, selling on our publication and media portfolio. The role will be offered at either Business Development Manager or Executive dependant on the successful candidates previous experience.

The main function of the role is to develop the business through growth in revenue, yield, and increase customer numbers. Even focus across all action groups of clients including acquire, win-back, grow and retain.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Own, support and develop the company client base
  • Conduct sales presentations over the phone, teams or face to face (where appropriate) to existing and prospective clients in order to develop existing business and generate new business wherever possible.
  • Responsible for growth, service and maintenance of accounts
  • Continually seek new sales & opportunities and develop these in liaison with your line manager as necessary.
  • Achieve all pre-set sales targets ensuring a successful contribution to the business performance.
  • Contacting potential clients and conducting a thorough investigation to establish customer needs and buying habits.
  • Booking and inputting orders/Setting and amendment of adverts.
  • Work alongside the Sales Managers and provide accurate forecasts.
About You
  • Sales experience, preferable telephone, B2B based.
  • Industry knowledge is advantageous but not a necessity
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated to continually explore new opportunities
  • Excellent communication written and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess a natural inquisitive nature
  • Target driven and efficient.
  • Have a positive, “can do” attitude
  • Maintain the highest professional standards
  • Ensure that no advertisement is sent for publication, which contravenes Government Legislation, Advertising Law, or is unacceptable to the company.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft packages are preferable
  • Effective time manager who possesses highly effective organisational skills
Consultant notes
  • Salary is £30k basic 
  • Commission is paid monthly and OTE is 30% uncapped of basic salary
  • Significant opportunity for the new placement to work through an extensive list of dormant accounts
  • The sector responsibility will be predominantly the machinery dealer sector
  • This role is very much based on someone who is able to put together a solution sale rather than a one off advertorial
  • Current sales team is made up of eight people
  • Expected revenue generation for this role will be circa £400k
  • Typical sales products start at £250 reaching to £30k
