This is a medium sized international patent law firm, with its headquarters in Basel and an additional office branch in Switzerland. In addition to a competitive salary, they offer a range of social benefits and individual working hours.
They are hiring for a Patent Attorney in the technical fields of either computer science, electrical engineering or physics. This firm places a very high value on the quality of work, with each attorney having direct contact with the client. The firm, which has a long history, has longstanding clients and a very modern infrastructure with strong IT Support.
The range of tasks you can expect to handle are varied including;
• Advising domestic and foreign clients.
• Drafting and handling patent applications and objections.
• International cases of patent disputes.
They are open to the level of the individual, you can be either someone who is more junior-level (having just recently qualified as a European Patent Attorney), or those that are more experienced with around 4-5 years of post-qualification experience.
A very good written and spoken command of the English language is a must, fluency in German would be very beneficial. French language skills would be beneficial but not a necessity.
Extensive drafting and office action handling experience, and formulating technical texts are a must. Plus experience with dealing with clients would be a benefit.
