Legal Secretary / Administrator

Job description

This is your chance to work for a specialist intellectual property firm that has a global reach, representing and protecting the interests of multi-national corporations, FTSE and NYSE listed companies, universities, spin-out companies, small businesses and innovators worldwide.

They are looking for an aspiring secretary/administrator to join their expanding support team. The role involves working alongside two Executive Assistants in supporting the workload of the team of Patent Attorneys. The role is extremely flexible and will involve you in every aspect of the firm’s work. Ongoing training will be provided as necessary. 

They are looking for someone who can be present in the York HQ office at least 4 days a week (so with a possibility of 1 day working from home).

Your profile:

The successful candidate will be dependable, confident, efficient, meticulous, adaptable, well organised and enjoy communicating with clients and professionals. 

Experience working in an office/legal environment would be highly desirable. Additionally, you must have experience of or a willingness to learn Microsoft products such as Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint. 

The successful candidate will be an all-rounder with an enthusiasm to learn new skills, and above all be a true team player willing to assist in all aspects of running a busy office. A knowledge of the patent system is desirable but not essential. This is a perfect opportunity for a bright and self-motivated professional to establish or progress their career in a corporate/patent attorney environment.
