If you have experience in IP support then this all encompassing role may be for you. This is truly one of the most dynamic and forward-thinking IP specialist firms. The business has an impressive list of direct clients which includes household name tech companies, leading electronic and software companies as well as global manufacturing, life science, food tech and engineering companies. 

They are hiring for an IP support individual to join their Bath office. This is currently a home-working role and then post-pandemic will be a mix of home and in-office working. The firm has a friendly, progressive, and mutually supportive working environment along with a smart casual dress policy and a stylish modern office. 

Paralegals work closely with their allocated Fee Earner(s), dealing with secretarial and administrative tasks and allowing their Fee Earner(s) to make the best use of their time. They are not necessarily looking for someone that ticks all the boxes in the below, as they have a solid training scheme to strengthen any type of IP experience! The primary duties of the role include:

PA Duties - Supporting the fee-earners with diary management, research, travel, liaising with clients etc.

Paralegal Duties - Prepares documents ready for on-line filing of UK, EPO and PCT Forms, plus CTM applications via EUIPO and Madrid Protocol applications (where applicable). Also working with legal documents, records, correspondence, support to fee-earners.

Billing - Adds service and official fees to WIP, prepares invoices and other responsible paralegal (RPA) duties

Standard Reporting - Emails/letters to clients and foreign filing instructions and examination requests  

You Profile:

    Good IT skills as we are a paperless office and we have a number of IT systems (essential)

    Previous experience working within IP (or a firm that has an IP arm). More than 2 years’ experience in an IP Firm would be highly desirable

    Experience of similar database (Inprotech) (desirable)

    Experience of a Document Management Systems (desirable)

    We would consider a legal secretary that has worked within an IP firm
