The second largest brewery in the world has agreed a deal to acquire London-based Meantime for an undisclosed fee.
Meantime, who saw their sales increase by 58% last year, have steadily established themselves as a front-runner in the popular craft beer market. With products sold in over 900 pubs, clubs and supermarkets, Meantime enjoyed sales nearing £17,000,000 in 2014.
Craft brewing is experiencing a revolution with the number of breweries increasing to over 1,400, each bringing their own distinctive offering to the market.
SABMiller join a number of major brewers in entering the craft market – following AB InBev’s acquisition of the Seattle based Elysian Brewing Company earlier this year.
